The term Native to North America, are hispanics native to North America?

Grandma is right, those people you mentioned were not from her country. They were and are from way south, many hundreds of miles south. Modern white people tend to blur the line of our territories in their ignorance of us, and our countries. They have decided that all indigenous peoples of this hemisphere must be native American because they named the continents north and south America. It ain't so. Aztlan is a fable, Calif and Arizona and Texas etc were never a part of Aztec country. Nor Maya nor Inca. The link you posted is pretty good. Your gran may have some senior moments, but she is right about this. Mexico as a nation was very hard on the NDN people in the north. The govt of Mexico paid scalp bounties on Apaches. 50 pesos for a man 25 for a woman and 10 for a child of any age. This caused the death of many non Apach NDNs too because 1 scalp looks pretty much like another. We are not too fond of Mexicans out here in Calif because of our history with them too.
