You should take him back to the vet and ask him/her if there is anything else wrong with your dog. Could be he is still in pain and may need some kind of topical/anesthetic spray or ointment on his skin or a low dose pain reliever. Maybe his skin is healing and has a tightness to it and is painful to him. Animals are like babies in the respect that they can't tell you what is wrong with them so it is a hit or miss situation until you can find a solution to the problem.
